YOUR ROADMAP TO: REMOTE WORKING WELLNESS & PRODUCTIVITY
Working as a team in an office environment can be challenging enough to have a work-life balance amongst the communication elements. Remote workers’ feelings of isolation, loss of direction, and alcoholism are on the rise during these past few months.
How do we navigate new territory of working remotely while keeping the team communication open, organized, productive (even with kids at home), and healthy?
How do you create an evidence-based health and productivity promotion program that does work?
And what can employers do to avoid common pitfalls that lead to ineffective and, in worse case scenarios, harmful initiatives?
Undoing decades of poor health habits won’t be achieved by asking employees to complete a 15-minute questionnaire. And for otherwise healthy employees, frequent biometric screening is often unnecessary, and from a clinical standpoint may do more harm than good because follow-up treatments can be unnecessary and costly.
But providing feedback reports that remind employees that smoking, not exercising, or being overweight is unhealthy does not motivate change unless workers are given the tools and resources to actually change and track their behaviors.
One-time events masquerading as health promotion programs – that is, activities not integrated into a comprehensive workplace health promotion strategy – are likely to fail.
Shonan Physio’s Online Wellness Programme creates a support system for your team to balance through the changes of working remotely.
Shonan Physio’s Online Wellness Programme:
Wellness meets Productivity for your organization. We train and support your team through the transition and beyond with structure, remote working strategies, socialization, wellness, and development (personal and professional) so your team, in a season of unrest, can function at its best. Maybe even better than before. These strategies live on beyond the next season. Shonan Physio’s Online Wellness Programme for a lifetime of organizational behavior shifts.
Developed by a Physiotherapist/Paralympian trainer and a Professor of Communications, these methods are founded in research and proven by people just like you.
We create a system of wellness and a positive, productive structure for the day.
Here’s how we support your organization:
1. Needs analysis survey
Before starting any wellness program, it’s of the utmost importance that you assess your mind, body, and health. We’ve created a needs analysis survey to assess all of these and how it may affect their current levels of productivity so we can measure qualitative and quantitative differences throughout the program. By checking these statistics, you’ll know where to start and where to go.
2. Pre-workroutine
We all have routines. It’s a question of whether it’s a healthy routine or not. Establishing a pre-work routine lays a solid foundation for a day of balance and productivity. We support each team member in a group workshop to create the right routine for them. So you wake up refreshed, get your blood moving leading to feeling more awake, grounded and capable. We also share tips, tricks, and tools for tracking your daily productivity and progress ensuring a quantifiable approach to effective working habits.
3. Movement
Start the day with movement. Research shows physical activities have a positive effect on work productivity. A team that moves bonds together.
Some individuals try pre-recorded fitness programmes online, which does not consider individuals’ physical conditions and therefore people tend to injure themselves. This leads to burn out, or simply not completing the program.
What we do effectively is tailored to the individual. Our certified trainer will customise and monitor the exercise programme to individual and group needs and progress step by step. While most home exercise programmes are focused on ‘how tired you get at the end’, we focus on ‘how well you feel at the end’.
4. Personal Mindfulness work-day Check-in
We’ve created a simple yet effective daily check-in based on Positive Psychology to support a positive mindset by setting your intentions for your day with do-able tasks. Doing this, the rest of the day will be smoother, you’ll gain momentum, and a sense of accomplishment from the start of your day.
5. Your Team stand-up meeting
In our research, CEOs, VPs and employees alike know how important it is to connect with the team. Yet, many of our research subjects have experienced feelings of disconnection. Structure and connection with the team is essential in making remote working work. We turn our start of the day routine over to your organization’s leadership to your daily brief.
6. End of day check-out moment
Employees working from home in our research express they don’t know how to “turn off.” It’s hard when there’s always “one more thing to do” and the laptop seemingly never closes. It can affect sleep patterns, mental state and home dynamics. We created a short and sweet end of day check out practice to support their end of day routine. With our workday tips, tricks and tools, each person can assess their own productivity for the day with a wellness balance.
7. Weekly workshops.
Isolation feelings while working from home is real. Many organizations are hosting Nomikai drinking parties online. But with alcoholism at unprecedented rates while working from home, there’s a deeper need for connection beyond webcam drinking with co-workers at the “space bar.” We host workshops and trainings your team can voluntarily participate in.
